Mercedes has spent over 15 years driving process excellence, program management, and organizational change across biopharma, healthcare, and financial services organizations, with deep expertise in commercial operations, launch readiness, and strategy execution. Prior to joining Asymmetry, Mercedes held commercial roles at Sarepta Therapeutics leading high-impact commercial operations and launch readiness initiatives; and Akebia Therapeutics supporting commercial and marketing operations.
Mercedes also previously served in consulting and internal advisory roles at Fidelity Investments and Bank of America, where she delivered on process improvement, organizational design, and analytics initiatives across HR and business operations. Across roles, Mercedes has partnered closely with senior leaders to bring structure to ambiguity, align cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable improvements in operational efficiency and execution excellence.
She brings broad experience supporting biopharma organizations across the commercialization lifecycle, including commercial strategy, launch readiness, commercial operations optimization, and capability building. Known for a collaborative leadership style and strong organizational design thinking, Mercedes excels at leading end-to-end initiatives that translate strategy into action and advance meaningful outcomes for patients.
